We’re excited to celebrate our 2025 FNQ Senior's Open winner — Sue Job from Half Moon Bay Golf Club!
We asked Sue a few quick questions after her big win, and here’s what she had to say:
Q1: How does it feel to be crowned the FNQ Seniors Champion for 2025?
"I’m stoked! It just shows anyone can have a win! I’ve been hitting the ball well lately so yeh, I’m wrapped."
Q2: Were there any conditions that were particularly challenging on the day?
"The weather was atrocious the first day, almost as bad as Millaa Millaa the week before! The last four holes it felt like the rain was coming sideways. Then, after I’d packed up and settled in, I found out I was in a playoff — had to get everything out again and head back to the tee! 🤭"
Q3: What’s your go-to breakfast before a big event?
"I’m pretty easy — either muesli with berries and yoghurt, or if Leo cooks bacon & eggs, I’m in!"
Q4: Did you celebrate afterwards with an ice-cream?
"Unfortunately Atherton didn’t have any ice cream… so I had to settle for a beer or three!" 🍻
Q5: What would you say to future competitors who get the chance to play FNQ Senior's Open?*
"I think all the ladies on the committee do a fabulous job! Going to other courses is a great way to meet people and have fun. It also improves your golf and supports women’s golf in general. You don’t have to be the best golfer or have the lowest handicap to have a crack."
Huge congratulations once again to Sue — a fantastic effort under tough conditions, and such a great role model for FNQ Women’s Golf.
