Interclub

Interclub Trophy_.jpg

Past Winners

The annual Interclub event spans over the course of the year and is open to all players from clubs across the region.

All players are invited to play in a series of 18 hole Single Stableford events, hosted at various participating clubs and representing their home club in a points challenge.  Points are awarded to the best performing club down to the least at each individual event.

A minimum of 3 players from the same club at an event is required to be eligible to earn points.

Points are calculated using an average of the top half of competing players from each club.

There is no requirement to participate in all events, you may play in as many or as few as you like.

At the end of the year,  the club who are leading in points are the overall Interclub winners.

And this year, Half Moon Bay Golf Club were the 2026 FNQ Women's Golf Interclub champions. Thanks to all who participated, volunteered and facilitated through out the year.

In Memory of Kath Eales - The Kath EalesTrophy

Kath Eales came to Mareeba as a nurse, where she met and married Pat. Together they raised five children in Hampe Street, directly across from the Mareeba Golf Club.

Golf was a big part of family life. When Kath arrived at the 10th tee, her children would wave excitedly from across the road. If time allowed, she would run over for a quick kiss and cuddle before returning to her game.

Kath was a talented A Grade golfer, winning numerous Mixed and Ladies Foursomes Championships. She had a distinctive swing and could hit the ball an extraordinary distance. On Mareeba’s original course, she achieved the remarkable feat of an eagle and hole-in-one on the 228-yard par 4 17th — a record never matched by another player, male or female.

Tragically, on 1 May 2003, Kath suffered a heart attack while playing at the Mossman Interclub and could not be revived.

The Kath Eales Memorial Trophy, established in her honour, is awarded to the player with the highest average Stableford score over their six best Interclub rounds.

Kath played golf with skill, friendship and a true love of the game. To win this trophy is a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman whose legacy lives on in FNQ women’s go
